Ireland Treatment of Somali woman 'unacceptable'

‘Irish Times’ reports that immigrant groups – in relation to a family reunification case involving a Somali woman – criricized the Irish family reunification system which they call unclear and labourious. The Department admits that applications may take up to 24 months and there is a backlog of 2,000. The Acting director of the Refugee Information Service is quoted saying Ireland is failing its obligation under the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
