Bulgaria UN: Human rights expert calls on Bulgaria to defend Roma people

‘Spero News’ reports that the UN Independent Expert on minority issues just completed her visit to Bulgaria. She called on the Bulgarian government “to match its EU and NGO inspired policies on Roma integration with Government-led implementation and the financial resources necessary…” During her visit she experienced that NGOs, mostly funded by international sources, bear the burden of implementing de-segregation policies in education while Government fails to fund these in practice.
