Romania UNOPA: the most active association of patients affected by HIV-AIDS

National Union of Persons Affected by HIV-AIDS*, UNOPA, received on Monday the ‘Gale Medica’ Prize 2009 for its project “Advocacy to reduce stigmatisation and discrimination of persons living with HIV-AIDS”. 300 guests participated to the ceremony at ‘Odeon’ Theater in Bucharest, among them the Minister of Health and the highest representatives of health national authorities. Created in June 2000 with the support of Terre des hommes – Child Relief, UNOPA defends and promots the rights of thousands of children, youngsters and adults infected with HIV or affected by AIDS, as well as the rights of their families.
