Kosovo 9 years imprisonment for two brothers involved in trafficking

Comment: This article describes another case of a girl under 18 years old employed as waitress in a bar in Kosovo and ending up sexually exploited. The phenomenon of internal trafficking for sexual exploitation is increasing within Kosovo, while the number of identified foreign trafficked persons has decreased.

In this case, in addition to being subject to sexual exploitation, the young girl was also forced to continue working as waitress in the bar, even though no salaries had been paid to her. There is no information in the article on measures taken to assist the girl, who moreover has also testified in court against her perpetrators and might as such benefit from witness protection measures.
