Romania DNA control!
December 11, 2007
Comment: The daily 'Adevarul' reports about five families of Roma Romanians living in the region of Valencia who undergone DNA tests in order to find out whether the 21 children they took care of were in fact their own children.
This procedure corresponds to the new agreement signed by the Public Prosecutor, The Government of Valencia region and the National Police. This is the only way found by the authorities to discover if the adults accompanying the children in conflict with the law are really their biologic parents.
The article relates also about the verification of official Romanian documents by the Spanish authorities, but without mentioning clearly the risks of falsification, especially about guardianship or parental authorizations.
The whole article is oriented to denounce the systematic exploitation of Romanian minors by organized criminal groups, mentioning that, for the past three months, two hundred thefts committed by young Romanian Romas have been registered in Valencia. Fortunately, according to the Spanish public prosecutor, the children are considered as victims and not as criminals.
