Kosovo Over 350 trafficked women

The short article reports horrific news that from a small municipality of Fier, 70 women are being trafficked each year- according to data published by the office for the fight against trafficking.

Comment: While the one-paragraph article is too short to describe such a complex phenomenon, it does highlight the fact that most victims were minors and also lists the basic underlying problems: lack of access to education and social-economic hardship in rural areas.

On the other hand there is no comparison with the region – e.g. Albania – to provide some reference points to the size of the phenomenon and it does not elaborate on any specific case. Also, the statements are not substantiated by different sources or views. The photo of the article does not reveal the identity of the victim but still shows the woman in a pitiful condition.
